Funds invested in TermPlus are allocated to a diversified portfolio of global private credit including loans to businesses that aren’t listed on public markets. These investments are typically used by institutional investors seeking stable, income-generating returns.

How safe is TermPlus?
TermPlus provides exposure to global private credit markets, aiming to provide regular income returns.
It’s important to note that global private credit is generally uncorrelated with listed stock markets – that is, there is not a direct connection between stock market performance and private credit.
Furthermore, TermPlus offers three layers of protection, all backed by a co-investment from the manager, to support capital stability and monthly income payments.
Investing in TermPlus is not the same as depositing money with an Authorised Deposit-taking Institution (ADI). Unlike ADIs, any investment in TermPlus will not be covered by the financial claim scheme (also known as the Government Bank Guarantee) established under the Banking Act 1959 (Cth), which covers deposits up to A$250,000 per depositor per ADI.
Is TermPlus a bank term deposit?
TermPlus is not a bank or a term deposit. It is an investment product that provides exposure to global private credit markets.
The issuer of TermPlus (Pengana Capital Limited (ABN 30 103 800 568, AFSL 226 566) is not an authorised Approved Deposit-Taking Institution (ADI). The product is governed by the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) and overseen by ASIC, rather than the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA). Investing in TermPlus is not the same as depositing money with an ADI. As TermPlus is an actively managed portfolio, the underlying global private credit investments incur management fees. These fees are already reflected in the displayed net target rates, meaning returns are shown after underlying manager fees have been deducted.
